Connect Improvements

Task Management Service

The following improvements have been made to the Task Management Service:

• Added a feature flag for the Task Management Service and exposed it in the Organization Settings page
• Introduced a new attribute type in the Metadata Service called “UI Component” used from the client-side to display the following layout elements: CPL Editor, all Metadata attributes, the preview player, and annotation section.
• Defined a new entity type in the Metadata Service called “Task”

Adobe Premiere Panel

The following improvements have been made to the Adobe Premiere Panel:

• Organization admins can now set a transcoder profile on the Organization Settings page to be used for generating proxies for Premiere Panel workflows
• The system now allows for an Origin Header of “null” for requests from Adobe Panel Extensions.

Search Service

The following improvements have been made to the Search Service:

• Added a custom workflow that will be triggered by the Organization Settings page, which takes all assets from the database, transforms them into events, and sends them through the EventBus in order for the Search Service to ingest the data as a temporary asset reindex.
• Published Asset Mutation Events (i.e., Create/Update/Delete) including metadata information

Added FFmpeg_Args field to Hybrik Transcoder Profile

Users now have the option to add free text to an ffmpeg_args field on a Hybrik Transcoder Profile in order to perform a color specific transcode using Hybrik for IMF to flat.

Save & Return Button Removal

The following improvements have been made regarding the removal of the “Save & Return” button:

• The “Save & Return” button has been removed from the following pages: Asset Details, Media Details, Batches Details, Jobs Detail, Package Details, Designation Details, Designation Details, and Metadata Classification Details.
• Since the “Save & Return” button was removed, we added an attribute to forms in order to validate that the save request has been completed

{{platform.name}} added for File Naming Convention

The {{platform.name}} annotation is now being added to file names when used in naming conventions.

Architecture and Backend Improvements

Made several improvements to the overall architecture and backend.

Usability Improvements

The following improvements have been made to the UI/UX and overall usability of Connect:

• Added a data-role to the "Add Media Items" button from the "Media Items" page.
• Implemented the possibility to change the style on subtitles from style.center.outline to style.center.

Connect Defects Fixed

Deep Analysis In and Out Points Fix

For a video file that was run through Deep Analysis, the user faced restrictions in being able to modify the In and Out points of the marker. The user can now add any numeric value to the In and Out points of any marker (from first to last frame of the video file) as long as the In point value is lower than the Out point value.

HLS Preview for Low Res Proxy/RAW Files Fix

Fixed an issue where Low Res Proxy Preview Files and RAW files were only playing for as long as the HLS preview had loaded before switching. Now the video files will play for the full duration. 

Error Messages Fix

Fixed an issue with error messages so that now they are clean and clearly describe the invalid action that was done.

Import IMF Fix

Fixed an issue where the Import IMF was creating 5 CPLs and 5 packages as opposed to just 1 of each.   

Quick Transcode and IMF to Flat MediaConvert Fix

Fixed an issue where the Quick transcode and IMF to flat with MediaConvert transcode was creating media files without any audio tracks.

Aspera Transfer Bad Tags Error

Fixed an issue where a “Bad Tags” error was generated when an Aspera to Cloud transfer failed so that now when the transfer is incorrect it specifies what is incorrect.

Modifying Designation Type Error

Fixed an issue where modifying an existing Designation in an organization that is using the old metadata system produced an error message.

DPX/TIFF Image Sequence Upload Fix

Fixed an issue where DPX/TIFF image sequence weren’t uploading in Connect through CLI

PAL to IMF using App2 Fix

Fixed an issue where PAL to IMF using app2 was producing a video output with a broken picture.

SRT to SCC Caption Conversion Error

Fixed an issue where converting SRT to SCC through the Connect Caption Workbench was truncating lines of caption and providing a file that was being rejected by the platform QC.

Usability Fixes

The following fixes have been made to the UI/UX and overall usability of Connect:

• Fixed an issue where copying the attribute fields from one entity type to another wasn’t carrying over the setting for the “Group” and instead was showing “N/A.”
• Fixed an issue where Transcode Profiles were not allowing the removal of the PCR setting after adding it.
• Fixed an issue where the “Comment at” timecode from a Shared CPL was not being displayed and was also not editable.
• Fixed an issue where the timecode from the player could not be pasted using the Paste Start/End Timecode buttons. 

Discover Improvements

Billing Tags Support in MediaConvert

Added billing tags support in MediaConvert in order to understand and differentiate MediaConvert cost per environment and organization.

Screening Room

The following improvements have been made to the Screening Room functionality of Discover:

• Added a thumbnail field at the node level
• Created a migration script for the thumbnails existing in Connect to Discover nodes so that they are synchronized. 

Replaced Tracing with TOM Library

Replaced the 3rd party library that we were using for tracing with an internal library, with the purpose of integrating data from multiple services used across the platform.

Notifications Page

Refactored the Notifications page to use the Wizard.

Usability Improvements

The following improvements have been made to the UI/UX and overall usability of Discover:

• Added createdBy/updatedBy resolvers to Node so that users’ information is displayed like how it is on the Asset Page in Connect.
• Reorganized elements of the Wizard Component to better fit the background color.

Discover Defects Fixed

Trial Period Ignored by API Fix

Fixed an issue where even when a trial period was set on the plans created for the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, it was being ignored by the API.

Video Length from API Fixed to Seconds from Milliseconds

Fixed an issue where video length was being returned in milliseconds as opposed to seconds from the API. 

Usability Fixes

The following fixes have been made to the UI/UX and overall usability of Discover:

• Fixed an issue where certain languages added to an asset would disappear upon saving while working in the staging environment. 
• Fixed an issue where the Reindex button on the Node Types page was failing.
• Fixed an issue where the Node Fields list was not populated in the Node-types settings section
• Fixed an issue where the text was disappearing after saving the countries in the geo-blocking section of an asset from Admin
• Fixed an issue that caused an error to appear after updating the node-fields for LogoMediaId
• Fixed an issue where an “Unsaved Changes” Pop-Up appeared when submitting a notification in the Admin section
