Connect

New features and improvements

• Native transcoding profiles - Connect can now store JSON documents as transcoding providers (currently supporting Hybrik) in a native format, along with a set of input placeholders which can be used to parametrize the job with different input files or metadata values
• DRM Providers - leveraging the Native transcoding profiles feature, Connect users can define DRM encryption at the transcoding profile level
• Notifications - added support for in-app and email notifications that trigger on title and media asset updates inside the Connect platform
• Timed text QC - added support in Connect to auto QC timed text on ingest through Baton. Users can access the QC report and approve or reject the files inside the platform.
• Configurable language codes - a common library has been created that can be used by Connect and Discover services to extract language codes based on a predefined matrix
• Business process management - introduced Step Functions as an abstraction layer over the existing SWF workflows
• Task management - added support for audio and timed text QC
• Added an UUID metadata type that is used to auto-generate values on entity creation
• Added a Timed Text deliverable type on package templates that supports timed text convert
• Added support for Deep Archive on media assets. Media assets can also be filtered based on the type of archive that they are in
• Added multiple button functionalities and shortcuts to Media View in order to enhance operator controls on the player
• Added consistency to the Clone CPL pop-up across all the places from where this action can be triggered
• Added name attribute on the Run Analysis checkboxes that are accessible in the Deep Analysis tab

Bug fixes

• Fixed a bug that prevented the users created through the Okta integration from being updated
• Fixed a bug where Hybrik links from transcode tasks had undefined link for jobs
• Fixed a bug where the Import IMF Package workflow was not waiting for missing resources to become available
• Fixed a bug where the tracks dropdown in VU Meters was collapsing in the wrong place the first time it was opened
• Fixed an issue that caused the MediaWarp page to crash when opening an archived media asset
• Fixed an issue that caused the Ensure Access task to return an incorrect message when using archived media assets
• Fixed a bug where embedded captions were extracted but not always available in the QC workbench
• Fixed a bug where the previously assigned track settings were removed after restoring an archived media asset
• Fixed a bug where the {{title.name}} value was not available when generating the CPL name in the CPL editor
• Fixed a bug where some settings applied to a metadata field were not being saved
• Fixed a bug where an extracted clip edit dialog was displaying validation errors when accessed from Media workbench
• Fixed a bug where the bulk attach and detach functionality was not updating in realtime for all the files that were selected
• Fixed a bug where large modals were overflowing outside of the screen area
• Fixed a bug where the page was not redirected as expected after flat conversion
• Fixed an issue that caused an error message to be returned when opening the QC workbench page from an edit package page
• Fixed an issue that prevented users from accessing the QC workbench from a package page
• Fixed a bug where validation was not correctly taking the maximum range into account when editing clips from workbench
• Fixed a bug where the language was always en (default) if the output file was converted as Smpte_TT format
• Fixed a bug where transcoding failed for video codec MPEG2 and adaptive quant when any option besides auto was selected
• Fixed a bug where pagination was not available in the CPL editor Markers tab
• Fixed a bug on the IMF package page where the base package select did not return all the values if there were more than 50 elements

New features and improvements

• Workflow enhancements - added support for processing statuses and output previews for media assets that are attached to titles and other entities in Discover
• Added multiple platform support on image transcoding profiles
• Added several improvements to the accuracy of the consumer API search
• Added support for multiple DRM outputs: CMAF, MpegDash, SmoothStreaming, AppleHLS
• Added several new settings to the image transcoding functionality
• Added import/export functionality in the API for applications, instances, user pools, settings and email templates
• Added search capabilities on the product catalog assignment window
• Updated the subscriptions consumer API query to return only the last subscription for each product plan

Bug fixes

• Fixed a bug where the active flag was not showing up on product plans in the admin interface
• Fixed a bug where statuses on screening rooms where not consistently displayed
• Fixed a bug where the Discover initialization wizard could not advance if the SVOD setting was not enabled
• Fixed a bug where the Discover initialization wizard was crashing when refreshing the list of available transcoding providers
• Fixed a bug where some of the screening room constraints were applied outside of the screening room applications
• Fixed a bug where the theme page was triggering an error on update
• Fixed a bug where the main menu was not refreshing when switching from one organization to another
• Fixed an issue where duplicating a theme triggered an error
• Fixed an issue where the assignment list was not refreshed after a theme was assigned to a new entity
